Dominic Shovelton is a British composer, producer & sound designer. His original compositions fuse contemporary classical tones and electronic production. His work is being commissioned across projects in film, TV, games, immersive experiential, digital media and live performance.
 
After a few years collaborating with director Robert Delamere composing for theatre he joined the team at Hum working on projects within advertising and commercial film. Additional live event & immersive installation compositions including Zoomorphic at the Victoria & Albert Museum, soundtrack scores for films & rooms at the United States Olympic & Paralympic museum, Colorado Springs and Mail Rail - The Postal Museum, London followed. In 2021 he was commissioned to compose music and sound design for The Blue Paradox an immersive pop-up experience on the ocean plastic crisis. 22,837 visitors attended during a 13 day run. This show is currently transferring to the Chicago Museum for the foreseeable future.
 
Continuing his work for visual media he composed the MOSMA award winning game score for The Bunker a Full Motion Video Game in 2016, it was also TIGA & BAFTA nominated in 2017. The soundtrack of the game was released the same year.
 
The past few years he has created original compositions & sound design for Rolls Royce Motor Cars for the launch of their new cars, including 2019’s Ghost. This music was a finalist in the 2020 Music & Sound Awards (MASA). In 2022 Rolls Royce announced its first electric car, Spectre. His role as music supervisor, composer and producer inspired a collaboration with the London Contemporary Orchestra who then recorded the score at Empire Studios followed by live performances over three nights at Goodwood blended with electronic elements and ultimately mixed in surround on site for an impactful & emotive audio visual experience.
 
During the pandemic some live events moved to on-line experiences. He composed music that included event identities, stings, underscores and sound design for Jaguar Land Rover, Yahoo and Rolls Royce Motor Cars.
 
He often collaborates with chamber musician, soloist & cellist Clare O’Connell and composer, producer & violinist Dave Le Page. He has composed music performed by the Chroma Ensemble and in 2015 collaborated with Clare & Daniel Pioro on the storytelling performance written by Patrick Sherwen “Brother Sister”.
 
In addition to the release of his third album Solar in late 2019 he worked on a collection of tracks that became an album of original compositions Enchanted Cinematic Visions released through Faber X and BMG.
 
He completed the soundtrack for the feature film Balaban in 2021, for which the score was also a nominated finalist in the 2022 Music & Sound Awards for the Best Original Filmscore. Balaban also won 'Best Film' at Rozefilmdagen, Amsterdam 2023.
