National newspapers have highlighted Faber composers’ events in the annual round-up of ‘must-hear’ concerts.

The Guardian recommended the TOTAL IMMERSION Jonthan Harvey weekend 28/29th of January at London’s Barbican as a unique experience from 'one of our most visionary composers'. The Observer and The Telegraph likewise flagged this up as one of the must-hear events of 2012.  The weekend will include many of Harvey's extraordinary orchestral and choral works, as well as the much-awaited UK Premiere of Harvey's opera, WAGNER DREAM.

Also in the Guardian, Tom Service pointed to the Aldeburgh Festival’s June performances of Oliver Knussen’s WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE and HIGGLETY PIGGLETY POP as the first performance of Knussen's celebrated double-bill fantasy operas in the UK for many years – this production moves to the Barbican later on in this, the composer’s 60th birthday year.

The Times and Guardian also drew attention to the UK premiere of POLARIS by Thomas Adès on the 17th February at the Barbican when co-commissioner New York Philharmonic, under Alan Gilbert, come to town.
