Dangerous Creatures is Matthew Hindson’s contemporary take on Carnival of the Animals, the result of a commission from the London Philharmonic Orchestra for their FunHarmonics family concerts.
It premiered on 8 March, with an additional witty script and narration provided by BBC TV’s children’s presenter, Chris Jarvis. The nine movements (performable separately, or in any order) include ‘Snakepit’, ‘Ants’, ‘Jellyfish’, ‘Rhinoceros Tango’ and ‘Big Black Bear’.

On 8 November the West Australian SO will give the Australian premiere of Dangerous Creatures. Warwick Potter will conduct at a family concert in WASO’s home in Perth.
