The London premiere of David Matthews’ acclaimed Symphony No 7 highlights the opening concert of the Kensington Symphony Orchestra’s 55th season!  The evening’s programme has a British theme, featuring Thomas Adès’ orchestral suite from his first opera Dances from Powder Her Face, alongside Elgar’s Symphony No 2.
The performance by the Kensington SO and conductor Russell Keable takes place at St John Smith Square, on 19 October.

The KSO announce the performance on their website:
‘We are very proud to give the London première of David Matthews' Seventh Symphony: this taut, exuberant piece was received with immense enthusiasm at its first performance by the Hallé earlier this year, and confirms its composer as one of our most accomplished symphonists.’
