In July 2010 the BWA held the prestigeous Brit Writer's Awards for un-signed UK writers. The winning songs from the Adult and Under 16s Songwriter category are now available to download from the Faber Music Store.

An Empty Day - by 69 year old former cathedral chorister Nigel Hanson - won the Adult Songwriter award.

Doubt - by school girl Freya Ridings - won the Under 16s Songwriter award.

Congratulations to both winners on behalf of Faber Music!

"The BWA has started a really important initiative here, with its Writers and Song-Writers awards. We’re delighted to have had the opportunity to be associated with the song writing categories and to have subsequently worked with Freya and Nigel on the setting, processing and uploading of their winning songs for dissemination and sale via our digital networks worldwide. This is a first step on the way for them, and it is a privilege to be there at the start of a journey which we hope will lead to increasing recognition for these two talented writers.  We look forward to getting to know new budding writers in the future!"
