Jonathan Harvey’s music continues to inspire musicians across the European continent and this May it will be the turn of the Concertgebouw Brugge to honour this most extraordinary composer. On 17-19 May the concert hall will host a weekend of Harvey events presenting pieces from across his varied catalogue. The acclaimed Latvian Radio Choir will perform a selection of Harvey’s choral works, including his last piece Plainsongs for Peace and Light. The deFilharmonie orchestra will perform Harvey’s vivid Bird Concerto with Pianosong with pianist Ralph van Raat. And Ictus Ensemble will explore some of his classic ensemble and instrumental works including Bhakti and Ricercare una melodia.
