Following the great success of the inaugural Media Music Academy in the summer of 2011, we are delighted to announce the following new courses: 

'Composing for Commercials' with Chris Smith


     
 


 

This course is aimed at composers who wish to enter the highly challenging but rewarding world of composing for television advertising.


Led by Chris Smith, one of the UK’s leading composers of media music, who has worked on literally hundreds of campaigns, the course will be held on Tuesday evenings and a Saturday in January and February 2012, at our Bloomsbury offices in central London. The course will include one-to-one tuition, the chance to compose for a number of advertising films (there will be an intensive writing day), and talks by high-profile speakers from across the industry.

'Songwriter's Academy' with Charlie Dore




 
 

This exciting and highly practical course is aimed at aspiring or practising songwriters who wish to see their songs covered by commercial artists; however it will also be of interest to singer-songwriters writing primarily for themselves. 

Led by acclaimed songwriter Charlie Dore, whose songs have been recorded by such diverse artists as Celine Dion, Tina Turner, George Harrison and Status Quo, the course is very much about the 'real life' of a practising songwriter, and will be run as a version of a professional songwriting camp over two weekends and two evenings in March 2012.
