Deputy I.T. Manager
(Harlow, Essex, UK)
Faber Music Ltd, one of the UK’s leading publishers and distributors of educational, classical and pop music seeks a Deputy I.T. Manager. Working closely with the company’s I.T. Manager, you will be responsible for developing and supporting the systems which drive our international sales, distribution, royalty processing and publishing functions. There is considerable scope for professional development with the possibility, for the right candidate, of taking on the I.T. Manager role when the present I.T. Manager retires in three years’ time. You will also play a central role in recruiting and managing a new I.T. support role for the company, an appointment we expect to make in September 2016.
You will be based at our Distribution Centre in Harlow, from where the company provides distribution and other services for itself and for a number of high-profile music publishing clients. The Centre houses our I.T., Accounts, Sales, Hire and Warehouse functions. You will work closely with the company’s directors and other management staff and will therefore need to make regular visits to our central London head office, the home of our Publishing, Promotion, Production and Administration functions.
Primary responsibilities:
* Developing new and supporting existing applications in the data warehouse for business intelligence.
* Developing new and supporting existing EDI (and other) applications using C#.net and VB.net on MS Access, SQL and Oracle databases.
* Management and first-line support of externally hosted Exchange Server and web servers.
* First-line support for users of the bespoke ERP/distribution systems (contractual support provided by our external software house). Applications include: EDI, sales order processing, ledgers, order-picking via headsets, warehouse management system,royalties.
* Network support including management of Windows servers, domain controllers, switches, firewalls and printers.
Education and qualifications:
* IT based degree or qualified by experience
Experience required:
* Development using vb.net, c#.net and SQL/T-SQL.
* IIS, domain management and SSL certificate installation.
* End-user support for Microsoft Office.
* System administration.
* Experience within a relevant commercial business.
* Business common sense.
Experience desired:
* XML/XSLT.
* Apple Mac support.
Salary commensurate with experience, but expected to be in the range £35k-£45k per annum.
