To those who know Lin Marsh's work, it will come as no surprise that her songs have been heavily selected on the new ABRSM singing syllabus. Two such collections are Spooky Songs and Serendipity Solos, previously published by Piper Publications.
Spooky Songs is a collection of five songs written especially for young voices, with some simple part-singing. As well as 'Something Spooky' (Grade 2) and 'Hallowe'en Witches' (Grade 3) the volume includes 'Lady Dressed in White', 'The Haunted house' and 'Black Cat'.
Serendipity Solos features nine solo songs on a variety of fun themes, again written with young singers in mind. Selected songs include 'The Cuckoo Clock' (Grade 2), 'Butterfly' (Grade 3) and 'Windy Weather' (Grade 5).
Both volumes are ideal for classroom as well as individual use, and are due for publication in fresh new editions in October.
