Discover new repertoire, revitalise your programmes, and explore ideas on how to sing, programme and teach, all through a diverse range of music. Faber Music, in collaboration with the Association of British Choral Directors, are pleased to present a unique opportunity for conductors and singers to come and sing with two of the UK’s most renowned choral figures, Simon Halsey and Alexander L’Estrange.

The next workshop will be held at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys, Manchester, on Saturday 21st March 2009. Simon and Alexander will introduce the widest range of music, both secular and sacred, light and more formal, original works and arrangements and new works by contemporary composers.

Repertoire will include: New works by Morten Lauridsen, Alexander L’Estrange, Howard Goodall (including his new Requiem Eternal Light) and previously unpublished Vaughan Williams. Find out how to introduce that ‘swing’ with some sparkling jazz, pop, film and show music. Explore great ideas for special occasions whether joyful, reflective or commemorative, and inspire your groups with uplifting gospel and African grooves.

The days are designed for conductors, teachers, students … in fact anyone who loves to sing … and will feature both mixed and upper voice repertoire for choirs of all types and sizes! This is likely to be a popular event, so you are advised to book early to ensure your place!
