Meet creator of PianoWorld Joanna MacGregor

How do you encourage children brought up on computer games and interactive CD-ROMs to settle down in front of a piano and learn how to play it?

The pianist Joanna MacGregor may well have the answer, with her series of tutor books, PianoWorld, published by Faber Music.  Radically different to its “stuffy” predecessors, it's a magical story-based tutor that uses cartoon characters, games and CDs to encourage children to study and practise.  It entices children into a world of exploration where learning is non-stop fun and practice is never boring!

Teachers, parents and their kids will have a unique chance to meet Joanna MacGregor and find out more about learning the piano with PianoWorld at a free pre-concert talk on Sunday January 30th at Elmwood Hall, Belfast from 5.30 – 6.30pm hosted by Faber Music and EPTA (European Piano Teacher’s Association).  To register free simply call 01279 828909 or email pianoworld@fabermusic.com.   You can then hear Joanna perform at 8pm with a fascinating programme of old and new from Bach’s Goldberg Variations BWV 988 to Piazzolla’s Tangos (see www.movingonmusic.com for tickets and further information).  Why not come and find out more.  If you teach or learn the piano, PianoWorld could make all the difference!
