This month sees the launch of Trinity College London’s eagerly awaited Rock & Pop Exams, which have been devised and produced in association with Faber Music and Peters Edition London.

This innovative new syllabus places a strong emphasis on performance, allowing music students to develop valuable skills whilst encouraging individuality and creativity. The exams also boast the unique advantage of using genuine rock and pop songs so, for the first time, students can learn whilst playing authentic hits.


Trinity Rock & Pop key facts:

• Graded exams are for Initial (beginner’s level) to Grade 8 (advanced) and have been developed for Bass, Drums, Guitar, Keyboards and Vocals
 
• Exams are designed to encourage individuality and creativity through options for students to include original compositions as well as self-accompanied performances
 
• The only Rock & Pop syllabus to incorporate real hits and include an eclectic range of musical styles from the classics to recent releases, so students can learn whilst playing the music they love.
 
• Brand new, graded song books with demo and backing tracks, performance notes, and guidance on technique and Session Skills, as well as advice on choosing songs, writing your own material and copyright
 
• Teaching and learning support available online including tips, blogs and forums
