Programme Notes

There are five short pieces in this set: Dancing from Fear which borrows its name from the painting by Paul Klee, is simply a unison line picked out on tin cans. Le veuve du boucher this time a two part invention, is named after a work by the Swiss sculptor Jean Tinguely. Time watches from the shadows is another lone line, this time with tickings and chimings. The title is from W.H.Auden. Rembrandt and Ettore Around 1900 the Bugatti brothers, both Italian futurists, took up a new art form: making cars. Et in Arcadia Ego Even in Arcadia, there am I.
