Programme Notes

Commissioned by the Britten Sinfonia, 'Stealing a March', a seven-minute caprice for seventeen instruments, is a belated tribute to that great exemplar Frank Zappa. It is a strutting march broken up by fragments of songs and chorales and ends with a fast, raw unison.
