Programme Notes

XX ("ecks-ecks") is a short concert opener commissioned by the Australian Chamber Orchestra to honour the twenty years that Richard Tognetti has been its Director. It is a playful exploration of the relationship between a chamber orchestra and its leader, and is dedicated with the greatest admiration and affection to Mr Tognetti. It was first performed by the Australian Chamber Orchestra and guest Director Anthony Marwood at the Newcastle City Hall, New South Wales, Australia on the 3rd of September 2009.
