Faber on the move!
Faber and Faber and Faber Music are delighted to announce a move to new offices as of 19 January 2009. The companies have moved from their address at 3 Queen Square to Bloomsbury House, 74-77 Great Russell Street.
The newly renovated Grade II listed Georgian building is situated at the corner of Great Russell Street and Montague Street, on the north side of Bloomsbury Square, within a stone's throw of Faber's original home, 24 Russell Square.
The building is laid over 6 substantial floors and will be a combination of open plan and cellular office space. It also provides a state-of-the-art environment for the historic archives of both companies and a new roof extension which will become the London home for the courses offered by the Faber Academy.
Great Russell Street will be the third Bloomsbury address for the two Faber companies, both having started life – Faber and Faber is 80 this year, Faber Music 45 in 2010 – in Russell Square. They have shared their Queen Square premises since 1971.
Richard King, Chief Executive of Faber Music, said:
“It’s hard to imagine a better location for Faber Music’s third home, within a stone’s throw of where we began in Russell Square. Cultured and distinctive, the building itself perfectly reflects our place within the music publishing industry: looking forward with great ambition to the 21st century while permanently connected with deep roots to an extraordinary past.”
