We’re very pleased to have been awarded a grant from the Culture Recovery Fund grants programme in the funding round announced on 17th October. We applied on behalf of our composers who have seen their earnings from hirings of their music and licences issued by us on their behalf for dramatic works, principally opera and ballet, disappear entirely since 1 April 2020.
With so much Covid-19 impact publicity focused on point of delivery businesses – retail, hospitality and, in our industry, performance venues and artists – it is a great relief that living composers and the music they create, the lifeblood of a thriving live music sector, are recognised.
