Jonny Greenwood's violin concerto, Horror vacui, has been nominated for The Ivors Composer Awards, in the Large Orchestral category.

It's one of five works nominated in that category. The winners will be announced on BBC Radio 3 on 1 December. More information about the awards and a full list of nominations here.

Premiered at the 2019 BBC Proms, the 30-minute work is Greenwood's largest compsotion to date and is scored for solo violin and 68 solo strings. It was launched by Daniel Pioro, with BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the BBC Proms Youth Ensemble and Hugh Brunt.
