The set of parts for John Woolrich's A Book of Studies Set 2

First performed by the Aeolian Wind Ensemble in 1993, the Book of Studies Set 2 has five parts lasting 10 minutes altogether. The first is the most substantial, alternating scurrying figures with moments of repose from solo instruments, and setting out material that will return later in the piece. A sinuous cantilena follows, succeeded by a jerky burlesque led by horn. Another moment of repose leads into a reprise of the first movement’s bustling material.
