Set in the departure lounge of an airport, Flight tells the story of a group of passengers whose plane has been delayed by an electrical storm.
This intervention of nature forces them to take stock of their lives and re-connect with each other. Written for an ensemble cast of 10 singers, this operatic comedy – a Marriage of Figaro for our day – was commissioned by Glyndebourne and has, since its premiere in 1998, found universal popularity, with many different productions and performances across the world.
