Composed for the Hood River Valley High School Madrigal Choir in Hood River, Oregon, this spare composition for unaccompanied SATB choir calls for each part to sustain a given series of pitches for variable lengths of time, independently of the other three parts. The piece is a vocalise, the only text consisting of the letters in the word "Oregon," rearranged.
