UK composer Gabriel Prokofiev is the newly-appointed Composer-in-Residence with the Orchestre de Pau Pays de Béarn in the South-West of France.
The new association was launched with the premiere of a newly-commissioned orchestral opener, Overture 87654321, performed by the orchestra under their Music Director, Fayçal Karoui, on 11-13 December this year.

Prokofiev’s relationship with the orchestra began in February 2014 with the premiere of his Concerto for Trumpet, Percussion, Turntables and Orchestra. It continues with three performances of his Concerto for Bass Drum and Orchestra from 29-31 January 2015, and then the OPPB present a newly-commissioned brass fanfare on 9-11 April 2015.
