MGM+'s Amityville: An Origin Story has been excellently scored by Paul Haslinger, honing in on the paranormal and haunting tones of the infamous haunted house tale.

The docu-series is the first elevated look at every aspect of this wildly layered story about the heinous murder of the Lutz family of six that became eclipsed by paranormal controversy, inspiring the Amityville Horror movie franchise.

Paul talks to us about his work on the show:
"Few things are more inspiring to a composer than a nice batch of paranormal activity! With this in mind, I had a great time working with director Jack Riccobono on his deep-dive into the circumstances of the Amityville phenomenon, originating in 1970s New York. What emerges is a rich cultural portrait of the period and an intriguing cast of characters. Musically, it allowed me to explore anything from 70s analog electronic music to Ligeti-inspired choral arrangements."
