The following text, written by Silvia Tarozzi in an email to Cassandra, is adescription of the vocality of Cristina Vetrone (of the group Assurd) as shesings Serenata maledetta (Nun t’affaccià).

Voce giovane ma scura, grave e profonda, che vive e non vive ciò che canta, lo interpreta. Si sente la bellezza della voce e l'intensità dell'interpretazione ma anche un'intenzione che non è presente nel canto popolare. Il colore della voce è quasi maschile, tipico di certe donne napoletane e anche giusta per la Serenata che è il canto di un uomo per l'innamorata.

Voce aperta che risuona nel corpo ma verso il basso. Frasi che salgono con energia e poi chiudono scendendo naturalmente. Accenti espressivi, tipici del canto popolare. Armonia che apre, solleva, sostiene, da' energia alla melodia. 4 note importanti attorno a cui tutta la melodia ruota e che vivono dell'energia della voce. E' sempre quest'energia che ci tocca e ci commuove, perché non c'è tanta intenzione di dire il testo ma le frasi si susseguono tutte uguali, se non nelle parole, nell'energia che porta il suono e l'emozione.
