Adonai, mah-adam (Mixed Voices/Accompaniment)

Adonai, mah-adam by Roxanna Panufnik is a Jewish liturgical work for SATB choir and Organ. It was commissioned by The Liberal Jewish Synagogue for their Yom Kippur service on 5 October 2022. The commission was sponsored by Merula Frankel in memory of her husband Richard and her granddaughter Tugela who were tragically lost in a car accident. The music reflects the sense of positivity of her husband and the childish sense of fun of her granddaughter and ends, returning to a mirror image of the opening as man is reverted to dust, ending in bittersweet harmony.
