“The pandemic brought me back to the piano and this volume reflects some of the fun I’ve had arranging and reimagining these works for piano solo.”

Released to celebrate the composer’s 85th birthday, Carl Davis: The Piano Collection is an exclusive edition for intermediate to advanced level solo piano. Limited to only 400 copies, the collection presents a selection of Carl Davis’s classic works, all reimagined by the composer himself.

Containing 21 pieces, the material spans the early 1970s to the present day, featuring works for theatre, radio, television and ballet, with exclusive images from the original manuscripts.

Born in New York, Carl Davis spent the early years of his career in America before going on to study in Copenhagen. From there he moved to Britain and entered the worlds of classical music, theatre, dance, film and television. He has since composed almost 400 film and tv scores, winning several BAFTAs and Ivor Novello Awards, as well as establishing himself as the number one choice to score silent films.

Carl said of this new collection: “The pandemic brought me back to the piano and this volume reflects some of the fun I’ve had arranging and reimagining these works for piano solo.”
