A highlight of the first weekend of this Summer's Aldeburgh Festival was the world premiere of Tom Coult's new song cycle for soprano Claire Booth and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra under George Benjamin. Displaying igenious musical invention, together with a masterful handling of both voice and orchestra, this 12-minute work once again confirmed Coult as one of the most exciting voices in British music.
