Faber Music is thrilled to congratulate Howard Goodall  on his CBE awarded in the New Year Honour's List 2011, given in recognition of his capacity as National Ambassador for Singing, for services to Music Education.

Howard has worked tirelessly over the years to raise the profile and importance of singing as a right for all young people - and, since autumn 2007, leading and inspiring the highly successful Sing Up national singing programme for primary aged children.  Howard is an EMMY, BRIT and BAFTA award-winning composer of choral music, stage musicals, film and TV scores, and became a household name with his wonderful music written for TV shows such as Blackadder, Red Dwarf and The Vicar of Dibley.  He is also a highly respected broadcaster.  Through his inspiring work, Howard has truly transformed lives by giving people the chance to experience, understand, share and enjoy music. He is a national treasure and this award is richly deserved.
