Berlin-based Australian pianist, composer and arranger Josh Cohen has launched his Emergency Piano Hotline, a new on-demand piano tutorial platform designed to accompany his band-approved Radiohead for Solo Piano songbooks, published by Faber Music and with artwork by Radiohead collaborator Stanley Donwood.

 

Since first sharing his Radiohead arrangements on YouTube, where his channel has amassed over 20 million views and 100,000 subscribers, Josh has become one of the most recognised interpreters of the band's music for solo piano. The Emergency Piano Hotline is the next step in that journey: a dedicated platform for anyone looking to learn Radiohead on piano, offering in-depth, officially licensed tutorials that go far beyond simply learning the notes on the page. Each track is broken down into step-by-step video lessons, presented in 4K with high-quality audio, covering music theory, harmony, rhythm, improvisation and the creative decisions behind Josh‘s arrangements, with new content added weekly.

 

Designed with late beginner to intermediate players in mind, the Hotline offers the flexibility to follow along with the official piano sheet music or learn by feel through the video demonstrations. This approach encourages players to understand the language behind the music and to develop confidence  in improvisation, rather than relying on rigid methods of learning.
