Perfect for marking HM The Queen's Platinum Jubilee is Zadok Rules - Hallelujah! By Alexander L'Estrange.
The 8-minute community choral work is a celebration of our rich cultural heritage. It's based on the music of Handel, Arne and even Henry VIII, and sets a text that wittily traces the chronology of the Royal Family:
"Start with the Normans, Willy, Willy, Henry, Stee, Henry Two was a Plantagenet, Dick, John, Henry Three."
It was originally commissioned by the Hanover Band and premiered by them in Arundel Cathedral in 2013, together with local school and community choirs - part of an extended South Downs Church Tour.
The work can be performed by children's choir and/or SATB choir, with accompaniment for chamber orchestra or piano.
