"quiet song of profound inner joy"
Morten Lauridsen has collaborated with the Stay At Home Choir in its final project of 2021, a virtual performance of his much-loved a cappella work, O Magnum Mysterium.

In rehearsals in October and November over 1000 participating singers from around the world were joined by Lauridsen from his island home in the Pacific NorthWest. The composer led masterclasses on the piece along with choirmaster Graham Bier and SAHC co-founders Tori Longdon and Jamie Wright

Unique to this particular project, the choir also invited singers to submit short home video clips which expressed what ‘family’ means to them – biological, extended, adopted, or found; a family reunion or special occasion; a place or landscape they associate with their closest friends and loved ones. Over 350 family clips were received in total, and as many as possible were incorporated into the special final video which can be seen below.
