Neil Brand's 2018 anthem, Say Not the Struggle Nought Availeth, has been launched in a new choral/orchestral version - in a concert that took place in Oxford late last year. This new version is now generally available alongside the original SATB/organ version.
The 4-minute work sets one of the best-known poems by Arthur Hugh Clough, 19th century English poet (and one-time assistant to his wife's cousin, Florence Nightingale). The premiere of Brand's version was given in All Saints' Church, Marlow by The Wooburn Singers and Chiltern Camerata under the baton of Tom Hammond-Davies.
