The first ever Bristol New Music Festival launches this weekend (21-23 February) with performances of Tansy Davies’ much-loved small ensemble pieces Neon and Salt Box.

As part of the new festival, the Bristol Ensemble were keen to establish a new music group from within their ranks and it’s fitting that they’ve turned to music by Davies, who hails from Bristol, for their inaugural concert. The performance takes place at Colston Hall (The Lantern) at 2pm on Sunday 23 February.

The packed weekend offering is the first venture of Bristol New Music, a collective of five organisations from Bristol. Taking place in various locations around the city, the eclectic programme brings together a variety of musicians and artists to create a weekend of new music filled with unique collaborations, original commissions and inspiring performances.
