Recent works by Tansy Davies form a central strand in Summer at Snape, a series of events planned in place of the Aldeburgh Festival.

On 26 June, Britten Sinfonia and Sian Edwards give the world premiere of Monolith: I Extend My Arms for strings and percussion. Also featured are the UK premieres of Davies’s Dune of Footprints for string orchestra (25 June) and the Yoik for solo horn by Pip Easthop (20 June).

Lasting around 16½ minutes, the new piece takes its title from a work by the French surrealist photographer, sculptor, and writer Claude Cahun. For more details of Summer at Snape, see here.
