OPERAS & OPERETTAS

Please note that no performance may be given without a licence.
From time to time it is necessary to restrict or even withdraw the rights of certain musicals for production.  It is therefore vital to check availability with us well in advance, before committing yourself to producing a particular stage work, purchasing materials or even beginning rehearsals.

Warner Chappell Music Concert Repertoire

Highlights from the Warner Chappell Music Concert Music catalogue include:

Arnold Bax
All seven of Sir Arnold Bax’s symphonies (and the unnumbered Spring Fire) are available from Warner Chappell Music, forming one of the major symphonic cycles by any British 20th century composer.  Bax’s other masterly orchestral works include concerti for violin and cello and an impressive sequence of symphonic poems featuring such works as Tintagel (which combines Cornish seascape with Arthurian legend), the storm-tossed November Woods, and the Celtic-influenced The Garden of Fand.

Eric Coates
Eric Coates was a master of light music whose skills were also employed widely in the film industry, as heard in The Dambusters March.  Other popular items in the Warner Chappell Music hire catalogue include the 'Knightsbridge March' from the London Suite, and The Three Elizabeths Suite.

Frederick Loewe
Frederick (Fritz) Loewe's partnership with playwright and lyricist Alan Jay Lerner was one of the 20th century's great creative double-acts.  Lerner & Loewe met in 1942 and by 1947 they had a hit on their hands with the musical Brigadoon, followed by Paint Your Wagon and Camelot.  Songs from the shows are available on hire separately or collected into four sequences, and the tunes can also be heard in a range of short orchestral medleys.

La La Land
There is a composer-approved La La Land Concert Suite available for hire to orchestras outside North America.

The 7-minute suite incorporates many of Justin Hurwitz’s themes from the Oscar-winning film including ‘Mia & Sebastian’s Theme’, ‘Another Day of Sun’, ‘Someone in the Crowd’, ‘Audition’ and ‘Epilogue’.

We also hire out performing scores to La La Land (in Concert) live film presentation for SATB choir and orchestra, where the whole film is screened with live musicians.

Astor Piazzolla
The catalogue includes many of the most celebrated concert and stage works by Astor Piazzolla, one of the finest exponents of the Argentinian tango.

These include favourites such as Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas (The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires) (in versions for full orchestra, violin/strings and piano/strings), Tres Movimientos Tanguisticos Porteños, Tangazo, Sinfonia Buenos Aires, Suite for Oboe and Strings, Milonga del Angel and the 'operita' Maria de Buenos Aires.
