On 30 September 2021, Mark Simpson and Quatuor Diotima will premiere Thomas Adès’ Alchymia at Kings Place in London.
Scored for basset clarinet and string quartet, the 20-minute work was commissioned for Quatuor Diotima by Kings Place, with co-commissioners Quatuor Diotima, Bozar, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Milano Musica, NDR das neue werk, and Muziekgebouw aan’t IJ.
