Singer-songwriter Renārs Kaupers set this text, by poet Imants Ziedonis, as a birthday gift to his wife, but his charming song received its public premiere in this arrangement by Eriks Esenvalds for Kamēr…, a Latvian youth choir. Now available in an English singing translation by Ieva Lesinska-Geiber and Elaine Singley Lloyd, this is a five-minute work for soprano and tenor soloists with SSSAATTBB choir accompanying in close harmony.
