Hubert Parry
Hubert Parry is undoubtedly most famous for his setting of the William Blake poem ‘And did those feet in ancient time’, a reaction to the ‘dark satanic mills’ of the industrial revolution. He wrote many other choral works and sacred pieces such as the coronation anthem ‘I was glad’. He wrote some orchestral music, including five symphonies.
