Athena Varosio is a composer, music producer and pianist based in London.
 
Her works premiered at | Berlinale 2023 | Berlin International Film Festival and have gone on to screen at numerous BAFTA and Oscar- qualifying festivals including Sundance Film Festival London, Encounters Film Festival, Aesthetica, David di Donatello, BFI Flare, Iris Prize LGBTQ+, Uppsala, Zinebi Bilbao, Winterthur, Vis Vienna Shorts, Curtas Vila do Conde, Interfilm, Montreal Festival du Nouveau Cinema and Kurzfilm Hamburg, among others. Athena composed music for short films commissioned by BFI, BBC and broadcast on Channel 4.
 
After beginning her musical journey at a very young age as a classical pianist, Athena continued her studies in Sound Technology at the Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi” in Milan and Electronic Music Production at the SAE Institute. She graduated from the NFTS (National Film and TV School) in 2021 with an MA in Composing for Film and Television.
 
Her music ranges from intimate minimalism to a broad spectrum of resounding landscapes, combining acoustic instruments with analogue synthesizers. Through her eclectic sounds and versatile atmospheres, Athena aspires to create a profound connection and a long-lasting bond between the story and the viewer's emotions. Athena's solo work is a mixture of orchestral and electronic landscapes. Her latest solo albums feature the cinematic singles 'Journey' and 'Disconnect', released by Konsep Records.
She is also part of the duo "in reverse" that was recently invited for a Composer Residency at Britten Pears Arts.
