Athena Varosio is an exciting electronic producer, classical composer and pianist based in London.
Her works have been selected for various festivals, including the Berlinale | Berlin International Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival London for The Veiled City, BFI London Flare Festival for There is a Paradise, the Academy Awards and BAFTA-qualifying Encounters Film Festival, Iris Prize LGBT+ Film Festival, Inside Out Film Festival Dragged Up, David di Donatello for Farta, Lift Off Global Network for Bubbles!, Athens Digital Arts Festival | Tactus audience awards for City of Ladies and I Want to Be Bored, and Mix Festival di Milano for Für Eine Nacht.
Athena composed music for short films commissioned by BFI, BBC and broadcast on Channel 4.
After beginning her musical journey at a very young age as a classical pianist, Athena continued her studies in Sound Technology at the Conservatorio "Giuseppe Verdi" in Milan and in Electronic Music Production at the SAE Institute. She graduated from the NFTS (National Film and TV School) in 2021 with an MA in Composing for Film and Television.
Her music ranges from intimate minimalism to a broad spectrum of resounding landscapes, combining acoustic instruments with analogue synthesizers. Through her eclectic sounds and versatile atmospheres, Athena aspires to create a profound connection and a long-lasting bond between the story and the viewer's emotions. Athena's solo work is a mixture of orchestral and electronic landscapes. Her latest solo albums feature the cinematic singles 'Journey' and 'Disconnect', released by Konsep Records.
She is also part of the duo "in reverse" that was recently invited for a Composer Residency at Britten Pears Arts.
