A D.W Griffith thriller short in which two girls are trapped and shot at by burglars. It was Lillian Gish's movie debut. She starred with her sister, Dorothy, after a chance meeting with Griffith moments before filming.
Carl Davis translates the style of piano improvisation into a trio texture which admirably evokes the film's melodramatic sentimentality.
