The Faber Music Women Composers Piano Anthology was one of five books to be awarded Presto Music’s prestigious Sheet Music Publication of the Year. The award was presented at a ceremony at Presto’s flagship store in Leamington Spa on the evening of 4th December.
Several other Faber Music and Edition Peters titles were nominated in the same category, including Beethoven: Masterpieces for Piano, Bluey: First Ever Piano Book, Ten (Memories for solo piano) by Debbie Wiseman, Chaminade Piano Works Volume 1, Julian Bream: Albéniz Guitar Collection, and Coleridge-Taylor: Four Characteristic Waltzes, Op. 22.
Speaking about the winning anthology, the judges said:
“The Faber Music Piano Anthology series has become a firm favourite of the Presto team with its extensive array of repertoire across numerous styles and genres. This latest compilation of music composed by women, with its varied selection of enjoyable pieces spanning several centuries, presented a clear choice for one of our top publications of the year.”
Lucy Holliday, Creative Director at Faber Music, said:
“We are delighted that The Faber Music Women Composers Piano Anthology has been recognised with a Presto Music award. Our Piano Anthology series has been a cornerstone of our publishing since its launch in 2016, and now comprises 12 books including Christmas, Winter, Night Time, Jazz, Duets and Soundtracks. The Faber Music Women Composers Piano Anthology showcases the talents of women in music throughout history right up to the present day, with many pieces appearing in print for the first time. It was a lovely opportunity to bring together composers from across the Faber Music, Edition Peters and Manners McDade catalogues including Cassandra Miller, Lisa Illean, Imogen Holst, Agathe Backer Grøndahl, Poppy Ackroyd and Büşra Kayıkçı.”
This award comes after a record number of nominations for Faber Music and Edition Peters titles at the upcoming Music and Drama Education Awards to be held in February 2026. The three titles nominated for ‘Outstanding Printed Music Education Resource’ are French Horn Basics by Paul Harris and Emily Wiggins, It’s Not Just A Song by RuthAnne Cunningham, and Essential Piano Technique Levels 2 and 3 by Penelope Roskell.
