Ecce sacerdos magnus is one of Anton Bruckner's finest small-scale sacred choral works for accompanied misxed voices. It can be performed with organ (or piano) alone but is greatly enhanced by the use of trombones and strings as specified. As with most of his works, Bruckner revisted this motet and made revisions; the final version has been chosen.
