Handel's Israel in Egypt (HWV 54), a biblical oratoiro with the libretto believed to have been prepared by Charles Jennens, who compiled the biblical texts from Handel's Messiah. It is composed entirely from selected passages from the Old Testament, mostley from Exodus and the Psalms.
