The majority of the pieces included in these three volumes are published for the first time along with a few titles which have been long out of print. Although not strictly graded, the first two volumes are aimed at elementary to intermediate levels, whilst the third volume is comprised of pieces at a more advanced/concert level. All the pieces included in this series are highly attractive and will be enjoyed by many pianists.

One of the most prolific British composers of the 20th century, William Alwyn (1905-85) produced almost three hundred compositions in most genres: opera, ballet, orchestral, chamber, instrumental and song. Additionally, he contributed around 200 scores for the cinema and was a noted flautist and teacher.
