Chopin's Sonata and Polonaise for piano and cello, edited by Mily Balakirev and Friedrich Grützmacher. Contains Cello Sonata in G minor (Op. 65), written in 1846-1847, was one of his last works to be published during his lifetime. It is one of only 4 Sonatas he published, the other 3 being for piano. This sonata was written for and dedicated to Franchomme. Also included is Introduction and Polonaise brillante in C major (Op. 3), one of his first works to be published. These are 2 of 9 pieces Chopin wrote for instruments other than piano in his entire lifetime.
