Song for a Penny (Piano Solo)

In this solo piano piece from 2000, Peter Sculthorpe recalled his childhood in Tasmania, and the travelling fairs that would set up each year opposite his family shop. For a penny, he would select a song from the fair’s old jukebox. Song for a Penny exists in two versions: the full 2-and-a-half-minute work, and a shorter version was created for the ABRSM’s Spectrum series.
