World of merriment (Mixed Voices)

A sonorous setting of the first stanza of Edgar Allen Poe's diacopic and onomatopoeic poem 'The Bells', focusing on the merriment of bells rather than the despair that Poe emphasises increasingly as the poem progresses. Commissioned by The Portsmouth Grammar School and first performed by their chamber choir, conducted by Sam Gladstone in St Thomas' Cathedral, Portsmouth on 11 December 2015.
