Piano Music of the Russian Five (Vol. 1) is the first volume of selected piano pieces by the so-called "Russian Five", also known as "The Mighty Bunch"; Mily Balakirev, César Cui, Modest Mussorgsky, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Alexander Borodin. The collection also includes as an appendix a Romance by Mikhail Glinka, arranged by Tiwolski. This unique volume brings together a wide range of works that are otherwise difficult to access and were edited by Christof Rüger in the 1980s.
